Once the estimate is complete, it is sent to your Insurance Company. An assessor will inspect and assess your vehicle by either the images taken of the vehicle or within our workshop, depending on the extent of the damage, and then negotiate on the price and procedure of repair, if the vehicle is deemed repairable. Once agreed upon, authority will be given to commence repairs. If driveable, the vehicle will be booked for repairs and a loan car booked, if required.
When your vehicle is dropped off any necessary paperwork is completed and the job details reviewed with you by our Estimator. Should you not require a loan car we offer a drop off and pick up service within the local area.
If towed in your vehicle will be scheduled into the workshop flow and if required, a loan car provided as soon as one is available.
1. I have had an accident, what should I do?
Take photos at the accident scene, and be sure to swap names, addresses, license number, registration number and insurance details with any other involved parties. If your car is drivable, bring it to our office for a quote. Subject to the price of parts, your estimate may be provided on the spot or shortly thereafter. Making an insurance claim can generally be completed over the phone from our office with early lodgment meaning minimal delay in the assessment, approval and repair process. Our staff will coordinate your claim to make the process fast, simple and hassle free.
2. Do I need an appointment for a quote?
No, we can do all quotes anytime, Monday to Friday. It will only take 5-10 minutes, so drop in for a free quote today.
3. Do I get a loan car?
Most insurance companies have hire car cover in their policies as an option. It may pay to check there first. There are options of reimbursement if it is a not at fault claim. Champion Crash Repairs also has courtesy cars available.
4. Do I have choice of repairer?
Yes, most major insurance companies offer their customers freedom of choice policies. When you contact your insurance company, inform the claims officer who you want to repair you car.
5. Do I have to use the repairer recommended by my insurance company?
No, most of the time you don’t have to use your insurers recommended repairer. Just advise them that you would like to manage your own claim. Some insurers may request 2 quotes and we will do our best to prepare a competitive quote without compromising the quality of repairs to your vehicle.
6. Do the repairs come with a warranty?
Yes. All our workmanship comes with an absolute lifetime warranty, as long as you continue ownership of the vehicle. We use the latest technology and invest heavily in training our staff to ensure vehicles are repaired to their pre-accident condition, with no impact on new car warranties. In addition Champion Crash implements a range of quality control checks throughout the repair process to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
7. How long will it take?
The insurance assessment process can vary depending on the company. We will compile a comprehensive quote and get the ball rolling.
8. Do I need to report it to the police?
You will only need to report it to the police if the damage is over $3000. We will be able to advise you on whether this is the case for your particular vehicle upon seeing the damage.
